Is gnome2-profile still valid? gnome3-profile does not exist (Bug #398)

Description

From my understanding gnome2 is no longer installable on Source Mage (I haven't tried it yet), but gnome2-profile still exists.

Also gnome3-profile does not exist, is there a reason for that?
It possible to use the depreciated gnome-profile spell name for gnome 3? Or will too many issues arise from that?
